Our client is seeking an Assistance Vice President of Operations to join their team in North Kingstown, RI. 

The Assistant Vice President of Operations will coordinate and execute Leadmen training, develop/implement processes and procedures as seen fit to streamline efficiency. The Assistant Vice President of Operations will oversee operations activities in the shipyard, identify and report deficiencies to Vice President of Operations and ensure Project Management needs are met.

 

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Assist VP of Ops in review of Purchase Orders and Material Requisitions prior to approval.
  • Assists VP of Ops to identify, recommend, and implement new processes and training required to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
  • Maintains, updates, and distributes weekly Project Progress reports and corresponding Progress Curves.
  • Maintains, updates, and distributes monthly Manning reports.
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Generates, reviews, and maintains cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Engineering, or other industry-related field required.
  • At least 10 years of industry-related experience including three years in upper management required
