Business Analyst

TRS takes pride in working with one of our distinguished mining clients in Canada. 

The role offers an opportunity to provide critical insights into opportunities for improvement, maintain existing data systems, and assist in providing business analytics, cost control, and reporting.

BUSINESS ANALYST - This is a 24-month contract position with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and decision-making abilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.

Employment Status: Independent Contractor
Work Location: Sparwood, BC or Calgary (Calgary based would need occasional travel, still to be determined, but not too frequent)
Working Hours: Mon-Thu 7:00am-4:00pm, Fri 7:00am-3:00pm, with one Friday off every 2 weeks.
Hybrid Mode (Calgary): 3 days in the office (hot desk) and 2 days work from home

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
-Facilitating finance planning, cost controls, transaction processing, financial reporting, and business analysis.
-Working closely with various departments across the business units, such as AP and Supply Chain Team.
-Providing timely Financial and Operational Reporting and Cost Control functions.

Qualifications:

• 4+ experience in finance, accounting, project cost controls, and project management, ideally within a mining or manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both formal and informal contexts.
• Proven experience in analyzing financial data within a project cost control or estimating role.
• High level of digital proficiency, especially in advanced Excel and Power BI.
