Our client, one of the world’s largest petrochemical companies, is seeking a Market Development and Technical Support Engineer to join their team in Houston. This is a project-based role expected to last 1-2 years.

MARKET DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY

Drive market development strategy and customer technical activities for the Healthcare and Hygiene Industry using common processes and decision criteria to execute on CLIENT Petrochemicals strategic priorities, resulting in the develop of key customers in the Americas Region. Identify new applications within the Healthcare and Hygiene industry and assist new product development to Increase CLIENT’s market share. Support marketing efforts understanding market, application needs and developments as well as building strong relationships at key OEM’s, customers and system suppliers. Development of differentiated and HAV product portfolio (PPC, ABS, PBT, PP and PE), technical service, and market implementation of new application and product solutions to enhance business growth. Role requires integration and multidisciplinary project-based collaboration between Technology, Sales and Business Management. Collaborate interdependently and align with global MDTS peers to prioritize and optimize global resource utilization and define/execute common business processes and objectives. Provide timely and quality technical services to customers in the region to achieve and ensure high level of customer satisfaction. Secure optimal technical support to customers and sales offices including technical complaint handling. Identify and initiate new leads.

Job Purpose & Responsibilities
• Drives promotion of product portfolio to emphasize profitable growth of CLIENT resins.
• Manage select OEMs to identify new and existing applications that could utilize CLIENT resins.
• Maintains strong customer relationships with key molder and OEM base.
• Developing and Implementing Marketing Strategies for growth.
• Work across functional areas to develop efficient processes from target through product delivery.
• Develop new customers by introducing and promoting CLIENT existing and new products with technical know-how.
• Coordinate and conduct trials and testing to evaluate new and existing products; consolidate feedback and result.
• Acquire first-hand knowledge on new trends in products and technology by maintaining close relationship with customers
• Provide tech support to customers (technical advice, complaint handling, training, etc.)
• Formulate required product portfolio changes to meet current market trends / demands.
• Analyze & consolidate technical market trends & opportunities & feedback to BU and PM.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree, Engineering or Chemistry degree preferred
• Technical and Marketing experience/training, Healthcare market experience is preferred
• Ideal candidate would have 5-10 years of industry experience working in injection molding for a polymer supplier or converter.
• Global business account experience desired
• Experience managing and growing market territory
• Self-starter with the drive and passion to succeed
• Excellent communication and matrix management skills
• Sound technical background, with strong sense to deliver results
• Strong Business Acumen
• Fluent English
