TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Calgary, AB. This position comes with a great opportunity to work on medium to large sized projects.
Responsibilities:
- Research market conditions domestically and internationally, comparing prices, delivery conditions, material availability, quality, and identifying new supply sources.
- Create and distributes Requests for Proposal (RFP) to eligible vendors.
- Maintain organized and auditable purchase contract files, ensuring classified or sealed bid documents are securely stored.
- Evaluate bid responses for compliance with RFP, considering commercial terms, pricing, delivery schedules, financial stability, technical capabilities, quality control, and shipping location.
- Coordinate technical review of documents with relevant departments and issues purchase contracts upon approval.
- Review purchase requests to ensure descriptions, specifications, funding, delivery, transportation, and documentation are clear and complete.
- Negotiate optimal pricing, delivery terms, payment conditions, contract terms, tax exemptions, price adjustments, and other cost-related factors.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 10-15 years of relevant work experience.
- Advanced proficiency with relevant software; Smart Plant Materials experience is a plus.
- Recognized expertise within the department.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
- Ability to transfer expertise and maintain confidentiality.
- Contributes to implementation plans and program coordination.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and accuracy skills.
- Interprets business challenges and recommends solutions.
