Location: Boston, MA
Exciting opportunity with one of the leading constructors and operators of offshore windfarms internationally. Seeking a Safety Engineer with a strong technical understanding of offshore Wind Turbine Generators and Foundations.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver health and safety documents, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with various departments to achieve project goals.
- Manage projects to completion, maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Develop and manage project documentation aligned with strategic objectives.
- Conduct workshops and inductions to ensure compliance with US legislation.
- Perform risk assessments and provide strategic recommendations.
- Design and oversee safety protocols and procedures.
- Review manufacturing processes and suggest safety improvements.
- Define and manage incident reporting requirements.
- Provide H&SE support through regular meetings and site inspections.
- Assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Develop hazard assessments and review fire protection plans.
- Implement safety processes using hazard analysis and risk assessment methodologies.
- Apply standards and best practices for large-scale projects.
- Conduct product audits at various project stages.
- Contribute to HS&E, Construction Phase, and Emergency Response Plans.
- Review safety, rescue, and evacuation plans.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety regulations.
- Capture and share lessons learned to improve business practices.
- Act as a safety leader, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process, Industrial, or Safety Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of design safety experience in a delivery-oriented environment.
- Experience in offshore wind farms, marine works, or oil and gas operations.
- Experience with WTG equipment, foundation fabrication and installation, and cable interfaces.
- Experience with design hazard assessments and large infrastructure project coordination.
- Proficiency with database systems and documentation administration.
- OEUK Medical certificate.
