We are seeking a Welding Engineer for a 12 months project based in Mesaieed, Qatar
Job Objective:
As a Welding Engineer for the project, your role will be crucial in ensuring the quality and compliance of products, processes, and systems throughout the project phase. Your expertise will play a vital role in maintaining quality assurance processes and ensuring that the Project deliverables meet customer requirements, industry regulations, and internationally recognized QA/QC/Welding standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Review site Welding statistics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) and provide reporting to management.
- Perform as Quality focal point for Welding and optionally NDE matters and provide recommendations for improvement and corrective action as required.
- Extract scope of work for the specific project through stipulated codes/ standards & client specifications for the qualification & development of WPSs/PQRs, Welder Performance Qualification Testing, developing welding plans & weld maps in collocation with Quality team.
- Participates in welding audit program (audit plan, schedule, checklist, reports, etc.) & monitor the overall production welding repair rate during the project phase.
- Root cause analysis for the exceeding welding repair rate against project KPI & address the solution towards relevant authorities with implementation plan.
- Interpretation and application of project specifications, design codes and procedures for the control of production test programs, welding and NDE qualifications.
- Provide welding/metallurgical technical input the review of Nonconformance, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and monitor welding rework as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in metallurgical/Welding Engineering /Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience associated with qualification, development & interpretation of WPSs/PQRs and all sort of Welding activities within the Oil & Gas Construction Industry.
- Qualifications in Welding (IWE/ EWE) & Materials fields are essential. Minimum of 03 years post certification & relevant experience with a reputed EPC contractor or consultant working on a large scale/capital project.
- Optional & added advantage having ASNT/PCN NDT Level II (RT, UT, PT, MT, AUT), and Welding (CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2.2), certified ASQ -CQI lead Auditor ISO 9001 2015.
- Experience using MS office, Excel & power point etc.
- Microsoft Proficiency in software’s, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
- SAP or Oracle knowledge is preferred.
