TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This is a long term contract position that comes with great opportunity to work on medium to large sized Mining projects.

Responsibilities:

• Engage in activities with both internal and external project team members, including subcontractors, suppliers, and contractors.
• Independently analyze and recommend solutions to problems of varying complexity, in line with organizational and/or project objectives and guidelines.
• This role provides support to the Project Lead, applying standard engineering techniques to a range of moderately challenging tasks.
• Review equipment documentation from vendors within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and proactively resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with and guide civil designers in developing 3D models and drawings of the work.
• Engage in the design of civil work for resource development projects, which includes site development earthwork, roads, utilities, overland pipeline systems, drainage systems, waste management, and other infrastructures, from the initial concept to detailed engineering.
• Perform and verify calculations, specify construction materials and equipment, and resolve moderate to complex engineering issues.
• Formulate and review specifications, encompassing design criteria.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications
 

• Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in areas pertinent to the job.
• Has between five and ten years of relevant professional experience as a Civil Engineer, familiar with Canadian codes and standards.
• Is a registered Professional Engineer with the EGBC.
• Has intermediate proficiency in computer and software skills, including word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation programs.
• Possesses the necessary technical knowledge related to the job.
• Demonstrates a strong drive to complete assigned tasks independently and in a timely manner.
• Has the ability to acquire and apply knowledge of relevant local, state/province, and federal/national regulations and guidelines.
• Possesses strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with a diverse range of individuals including management, colleagues, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
