We’re seeking a dedicated Foreman for Facilities Maintenance for our client. This hands-on role involves planning, organizing, and supervising the maintenance, repairs, and renovations of our properties. The successful candidate will lead and work alongside a small team of staff and contractors, ensuring work is carried out in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This role requires a strong focus on safety and ability to work in the outdoor environment.
This role is a Contract role with an estimated contract duration of 7 months with a possibility of extension.
Salary Range: $35-40/hour
Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the upkeep of properties and assets, including regular inspections.

Plan and execute cost-efficient maintenance, repairs, and renovations, both scheduled and emergency.

Ensure quality control for all repair and renovation work done by staff and contractors.

Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

Manage budget by authorizing and monitoring expenditures within approved limits.

Handle contract administration and participate in the development of requests for proposals.

Manage personnel including hiring, training, supervision, and performance evaluation.

Communicate effectively with clients about scheduling and impacts and address their inquiries and complaints promptly and sensitively.

Promote safety awareness among staff through regular meetings and training on best practices.

Collaborate with the Operations Superintendent to develop and implement policies, procedures, plans, budgets, and schedules for maintenance, repair, and renovation.
Qualifications:

A minimum of five years’ experience in residential or other construction, maintenance, and/or repairs is necessary.

At least one year of experience in leading or managing employees.

Must have basic plumbing skills and experience.

The candidate must have First Aid Level 1 certification or be willing to obtain it within a specific timeframe.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and the Internet is required.

Possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is mandatory.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Previous experience working within a First Nation community or organization is preferred.

The candidate must successfully pass a Criminal Record Check.
