Piping Engineer

TRS Staffing is working with an outstanding Calgary based EPC company and they are looking for a strong Piping Engineer to work on Alberta Oil and Gas design projects. This is a long-term opportunity.

Develop and assess lists for manual valves and piping specialty items, including datasheets and tie-in lists.
Verify the accuracy and compliance of piping isometric materials.
Evaluate current line class specifications and establish piping line classes (flange ratings).
Populate piping data in the line list and compile engineering work packages.
Offer guidance and technical support to junior staff, promoting a collaborative and educational environment.
Oversee budget adherence by reviewing and monitoring designs against control estimates and project specifications.
Maintain and review project schedules, tracking engineering tasks and deliverables in partnership with project management.
Assess vendor or subcontractor quotations, drawings, and specifications for technical adequacy and project compliance.
Participate in design reviews and HAZOPs to ensure project safety and efficiency.
Provide comprehensive engineering and design services, including setting design criteria, preparing specifications, design computations, drawings, models, and bills of material.
Implement and oversee change processes to ensure project flexibility and success.

Requirements:

5 – 10 years of progressive experience in facilities engineering and design within the energy sector.
Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, though Metallurgical and Process Engineering will also be considered.
P.Eng. registration with APEGA.
