PROCESS OPTIMIZATION  ENGINEER (Permanent Full-time) - Candidates must be committed to relocate within small towns of Southeastern BC. Relocation is provided. 

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and reports for the maintenance, design, and implementation of regulatory and advanced controllers, as well as the real-time optimization of selected operational circuits.

Qualifications:
  • Engineering Degree in Electrical, Metallurgical, or Chemical field with a focus on Process Control.
  • Registered, or eligible to register, with EGBC as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, designing, and implementing real-time optimization strategies in an industrial mineral processing environment.
  • Must have strong background in MPC (Model Predictive Control) system.
  • Core competencies: Predictive Modeling, Optimization, Real-Time Adjustment, and Applications.
  • Experience with instrumentation, PLC/DCS, HMI, historian, and Aspen DMC3.
  • Proficiency in process identification, modeling, and simulation.
  • Must have experience in industrial process environment (pulp & paper, mineral processing, etc.), plant maintenance, analyzing process data, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety. 
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineers, plant operators, maintenance personnel, and management, to troubleshoot issues, optimize process performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
