The Project Engineer (Junior) will provide technical support for various projects and activities within the pre-construction works program, including engineering, project management, project reporting and cost/schedule/quality management.
The successful candidate will report directly to PCW Project Manager and play an essential part in supporting the company’s engineering and senior management team through the project’s construction phase. This role is for the right individual to develop for the project’s long-term prospects.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
• Ensure safety compliance to WLNG Occupational Health and Safety programs; promote an authentic HSE culture by leading by example and actively participating in supporting the development of safe work plans, JHA, reporting, corrective actions, etc., as required.
• Ensure compliance to WLNG Environmental Management Plans and contractor meets permit requirements set forth by stakeholders, environmental agencies and the district of Squamish.
• Support QA/QC requirements and work with PMT Quality Management.
• Manage day-to-day activities of the engineering consultant, scope development, assigned to the contractor or as assigned by PCW Project Manager.
• Coordinate field queries (RFI, technical queries, etc.) and scope changes with PMT Site Management, PMT Engineering, PMT Project Controls and PMT Regulatory & Permitting.
• Support Site Procurement/Subcontracts in the development of supporting technical or construction scope documentation for bidding, technical evaluations and contract awards.
• Review and verify contractor invoices related to scopes of work overseen.
• Provide information to PMT Project Controls in Houston, as required, for contractor cost and progress reporting/forecasts as well as change management.
• Support site operations, emergency response and incident management activities, as required.
Required Experience
• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical).
• Minimum of 3 years experience in oil and gas, heavy industrial construction, engineering, and other construction-centric work.
• Requires an understanding of LNG or Oil and Gas design and construction projects.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate may be required.
• Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
• Attend all required training courses and certifications related to ongoing and new works.
• Specific training will be provided by WLNG as required in areas such as Confined space, Work at Height, First Aid, Incident Command, etc.
• Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and all safety policies and procedures.
• Good team and organizational skills.
